After hearing the proposals of all four choices, I have come to the conclusion that none of these four options will be efficient enough to turn Iraq into a democratic, stable and in economically perfect conditions. However, out of the four choices we have been debating in class I still maintain the position I defended throughout the debate: option two.
Providing Iraq with the means to succeed by its own is the best solution out of all four, because it would help and guide the Iraqis to create a more stable and democratic nation. We are aware that 80% of the Iraqi population wants the United States’ troops to leave their country, and this is why our objective is to withdraw the troops from Iraq as soon as possible. Other goals that we would aim for if this option was chosen are: decreasing unemployment, improving education and infrastructure, stabilizing the economy and most of all, the security of the people.
This is the best option because it’s the most reasonable and the most favorable for the Iraqis and the Americans as well. The damage in Iraq is already done, and this option is the only way to make the situation better and prevent it from happening again.
